Kangaroo Point: Full time role

We have a full time position available. This family requires the nanny to work Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm. There can be some flexibility with the times.

This role is in Kangaroo Point.

They are an Indian family with one baby girl now aged 3.5 months.

The mother of the baby was involved in a motor bike accident many months ago which has left her in hospital and undergoing extensive rehab.

Her husband, mother and sister are all staying in Kangaroo Point at the rehab facility apartments for families.

Dad works most days however the grandmother and aunty of the baby are in the home. The grandmother cooks all day and tides the home. They all do fuss over the baby so there will be many times you will feel quite useless or not needed however the mother feels more comfortable and less stressed when there is a nanny in the home assisting when needed.

The grandmother will be heading back to India at some stage however the time is not known yet.

To even think about this role you need to acknowledge the family speak Indian between themselves in the home in which you may feel uncomfortable with, there are a few cultural differences so you need to respect their beliefs and the way they are raising the baby. You also need to feel comfortable studying or sitting down and reading a book as you wont be asked to do a lot, again its just comfort for the mum knowing you can help if the family needs it.

If the grandmother goes back to India then you may well become busy with helping with cooking, and being more hands on with bub.

This job will be fairly easy in that there is not a lot of work to do however you will need to feel comfortable with family in the home, have some baby experience to help guide the family should they require this, be able to drive the baby to see her mother when they ask you too and have some maturity to understand this situation is very unique and the mother feels helpless she can not help her baby.

This family has very Christian values so would like a respectable, calm and nurturing nanny for their baby girl.

The insurance company will be paying for the nanny so you will have to invoice them to be able to be paid. Currently the rate is set at $20 per hour however there is negotiations for it to be a little higher.

This job is to start immediately.
