I love to laugh. It is important to laugh for countless reasons including alleviating stress, anxiety and feeling down. Laughing reduces tension and stress, and lowers anxiety and irritation. There are many ways we can get a good laugh in during the day, including watching a funny movie, listening to your favourite radio station or reading a funny comic or book. This goes for children as well. In fact there are many really funny children’s books on the market (classic and new) to choose from that are read-aloud and bound to have the whole family in fits of giggles. I have shared my favourite two books below and encourage you to read them both!
The Adventures of Nanny Piggins by R.A Spratt
I won’t share too much about this one apart from have a think about a glamourous & eloquent well-dressed pig arriving as your nanny and you will get the picture….
If you want a serious giggle with your family that will have you talking for days then I cannot recommend this debut novel by R.A Spratt enough. For a review visit www.booktopia.com.au
Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stein
A sweet baby chicken wants her daddy to read her a bedtime story, but she can’t stand to watch her beloved fairy tale characters make mistakes. So she interrupts and interrupts and interrupts – all in an attempt to rewrite her favourite stories. This book is very much the read aloud and very hilarious!
